I've read comments that some of his children live in the house and potentially pay rent to Prior? If they are on the defense witness list and that is a fact and mentioned, will that also be a big concern? If I were a juror and heard this comment and saw the big reaction over it, I would be extremely curios if something shady was going on. I would be reassured by the judge's decision, but it wouldn't be something that would be easy to not wonder about until after the trial

All these court cases make me realize one thing… The justice system is guilty until proven innocent beyond any doubt. Cases that have no evidence either way, go guilty. It’s kinda scary

As a juror, I'd have long ago decided Prior was an asshole and would have thought it funny. I'd be super curious, and Im sure my brain would eventually conclude his lawyer owns his house for payment. I would never even consider that this has anything to do with whether or not he was guilty of what he's accused of. It has no bearing. I don't understand the law, but to me, the best way to ensure the jury did not let this weigh on the decision would be to explain in some way why his lawyer owns the property. Very innocent explanation, but under the veil of secrecy, it almost causes problems.

Just remember - if Chad gets divorced, the life insurance money (most likely) goes away!

Question, Is it possible that jurors (all or some) know what John Pryor was accused of and how he got a plea deal to a lesser charge? In some cases, men who commit this type of offense can also commit other worse acts upon women (Chad is a good example). As a juror, I would be very troubled by this information about Pryor. That combined with his poor demeanor in court, could have a negative effect on the jury.

Peter, I appreciate your knowledge and fairness. I think Chad is guilty but it has still been interesting. I’m just a grandma enjoying how the law works, how important the wording is, and how tedious things are. It makes me wonder if I should have been a Lawyer……🤦🏼‍♀️No thanks!
